Join us in building a vibrant community focused on MMO development. Whether you’re a seasoned developer or just starting out, there’s something for everyone at RageZone.

Getting the Most Out of the Forums

A forum works best when every thread is easy to find, easy to read and easy to answer. Before you post, take a few minutes to search existing topics. Many questions about compiling server sources, configuring databases or fixing client connection errors have already been discussed in detail, and reviving a solved thread with new findings is often more useful than starting a duplicate.

Writing a help thread that gets answers

Experienced members are far more likely to respond when a request is clear and complete. A good help thread usually includes:

  • What you are working with: the game, the server file version or source revision, and your operating system.
  • What you expected and what happened: describe the goal, then the actual behaviour.
  • Exact error messages and logs: paste the relevant lines as text rather than a blurry screenshot, and trim anything unrelated.
  • What you have already tried: this saves everyone time and shows you have done some groundwork.

Never post passwords, database credentials or private IP details in public threads. If you have solved your own problem, reply with the fix so the next person benefits.

Sharing releases responsibly

When you publish server files, tools or mods, explain what the package contains, which client version it targets and any known issues. Credit the original authors of code or assets you built on, and respect requests from creators who do not want their work redistributed. Scanning archives before uploading and listing dependencies helps keep the community's catalog trustworthy. Finished work can also be highlighted in the Releases area.

Learning as you go

If you are new to private server development, pair the discussion boards with step-by-step material from the Tutorials section, and review the forum rules so your posts stay on topic. Constructive feedback, patience with beginners and a willingness to share what you learn are what keep a development community active year after year.
